Three new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in Cambodia this morning; the tally thus rose to 326.

According to the Ministry of Health’s press release, the new cases are all Cambodians living in Phnom Penh, including a baby of 7 months old. They are all related to the Nov. 28 Community Event (first community outbreak found on the spouse of a senior official at the Ministry of Interior). They have been admitted to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in the capital.

The 326 confirmed cases in the Kingdom include 210 Cambodians, 45 French, 18 Chinese, 13 Malaysians, 9 Indonesians, 9 Americans, 6 British, 3 Vietnamese, 3 Canadians, 3 Indians, 2 Hungarians, 2 Pakistanis, 1 Belgian, 1 Kazakhstani, and 1 Polish.

Meanwhile, three more patients has recovered, bringing the total number of cured patients to 304, or 93.25 percent of the confirmed cases with no fatal case.

The cured patients are a Cambodian peacekeeper who returned home on Oct. 28 from his mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), the Hungarian ambassador to Cambodia and Vietnam infected from the Nov. 3 Event, and a Cambodian young man from Japan. They have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.

Regarding the Nov. 28 Community Event, as of Nov. 30, 4,869 specimens of those coming in contact with the event have been tested, of them 17 are COVID-19 positive.
